today was a day of dense relaxation and acceptance.

this was the continuation of my experimentation with practicing acceptance and surrender. i have found it to be remarkably helpful as i had been placing unhealthy pressure on myself to be mindful with the distorted expectation that i should be able to force an instant transformation and liberation. this deluded mindset caused for much tenseness and clenching in the mind and my recent attempts to forgive myself and forgive the moment have released all of this unwholesome energy and allowed it to naturally flow through. i think at a certain point we come to the realization that by the semi-subconscious clinging and clenching of the mind we constrain and restrict the natural flux of thoughts, beliefs, experiences, and feelings. however, by simply observing in a non-judgmental way, we allow these mental forces to exist in their moment and promptly drift off to be replaced by something else. this is an embrace of the Buddhist philosophy of impermanence. this is being content to simply watch the various mental events be created, flow through the mind, and then get destroyed, swallowed back into nothingness from whence all originates.

i have found much relief in this practice which has given me a sense of inner relaxation. another factor contributing to my growing relaxation is the practice of yoga which i have also recently adopted. i have begun practicing various yogic postures for a couple of minutes before and after my meditation sittings. i have found that this gives me greater balance and a centered mind focused on its task and content in its relaxation and stillness. it is quite helpful.

this song i have posted was also a product of that prolific couple of weeks during which i felt like recording songs. this one was inspired by traditional oriental music and instruments. i wanted to make it ethnic sounding but universal at the same time. so the result is this song which i felt exemplifies a real solid feeling of relaxation from the core. it feels to me as though this song is expressing true relaxation and on reflection of today’s relaxing experiences, it is quite relevant. i titled the song “dense relaxation” at the advice of a close friend who said it best described it.

that is why today is denserelaxationday.
